Located 1 Km from the Goddess Vindhyavasini Temple, this temple stands on Ram Gaya Ghat. According to the legends, Lord Rama established Shiva Linga here in the memory of his ancestors. The beautiful white building of the temple looks more like an Ashram (hermitage). A massive Shiva Linga is situated in the centre of the place. The local legends narrate that when Lord Rama was returning from Vanvasa (exile) to become a king, Vashisht Muni asked him to first offer prayer to the devas and perform last rites of his father. Lord Rama then retracted his steps and went to Varanasi, Allahabad and Pushkar under the instruction of the Saint, and amidst which this temple was one of his stops.
