The ancient Shaktipeeth of Goddess Vindhyavasini, is a major attraction of this region. The temple’s sanctum houses about 5 ft. tall black stone idol of the Goddess, adorned with hundreds of bright garlands. It attracts pilgrims throughout the year, however, big congregations are held during Navratras in Chaitra (April) and Ashwin (October) months. In the month of Jyeshtha (June) ‘Kajali’ competitions are also held here. The daily aartis performed here are worth experiencing.
